Topic: Using the Central Rappahannock Heritage Center for your Genealogical ResearchThe Heritage Center has archived thousands of local family resources, some dating to the late 17th Century. Florence is a native of Fredericksburg and a member of the Patawomeck Tribe. Speaker: Florence R. Barnick, Chair of the Heritage CenterFlorence Rowe Barnick is Chair of the Central Rappahannock Heritage Center Board, a position she’s held since 2021 and a Board member since 2019. In addition to her leadership, she has assisted researchers at the Center since it reopened in 2023 after COVID-19. A native of Fredericksburg, she graduated from James Monroe High School and Sweet Briar College, where she majored in American Studies. She is a retired executive of The Free Lance-Star and the Star Radio Group. She is a member of the Patawomeck Tribe in Stafford County, a Life member of the Colonial Dames, a Board member and keeper of the records of the Fredericksburg Cemetery, and a Board member of Fredericksburg’s Ladies Memorial Association. |
