Fredericksburg Regional Genealogical Society
Serving Fredericksburg, Virginia, and surrounding counties
Trip Wiggins will be presenting “Using County Boundary Changes to determine WHERE to find records on your ancestors.”
In the 1700s-1800s states were created, creating counties, changing county boundaries (or eliminating the county) to get to the counties – and County Courthouses – we have today. It can be hard to determine where to look for records relating to your ancestors. We’ll look at a Virginia example, pitfalls to watch out for, and research strategies to FIND your people.
The Fredericksburg Regional Genealogical Society (FRGS) is having its regular monthly membership meeting via Zoom on the second Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM ET.
