What’s New in Irish Research

March 21 @ 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

If you are researching Irish families, what is new and moving and shaking? We will look at the new databases available to researchers and will demonstrate a few of them.  There are new tools for identifying people and places.

We will look at available Irish Census records especially the 1901 and 1911 census. The 1926 Census will become available in April 2026. We will look at the Virtual Treasury was started in 2022 as an attempt to recreate the records destroyed in 1922 at the outset of the Civil War. This is an ever-growing, open-access resource, freely and permanently available online to all those interested in Ireland’s deep history, at home and abroad.

We will look at the Irish National Archives and the Ulster Historical Foundation.
